Amazon hat den E-Bookreader Kindle 2 vorgestellt. Das Gerät kann per USB oder GSM mit .azw, .txt, .mobi, .prc, .pdf, .html, .doc sowie .jpg, .gif, .png, .bmp Dateien gefüttert werden. Allerdings scheint es vorerst nur in den USA erhältlich zu sein. Mit ~300 Gramm ist es auch noch leichter als die meisten Bücher und das Display mit E-Ink-Technik sollte auch bei jedem Licht gut lesbar sein. Komische Sache: so ein Gerät könnte auf lange Sicht gut für die Umwelt sein (und schlecht für die klassische Papierindustrie).

screenshot phpfilemanager is a simple online filemanager to browse/edit/modify/upload/download files from your computer to a webserver. It is very small and fast. (it has only ~4 KB). Installation is very simple, only extract to a php4 (i don't know if it works with php3) enabled webdirectory and then start with "http://server/directory/index.html". currently there is no config. Warning! If you don't secure the directory where phpfilemanager (by .htaccess for example) is installed, anyone could edit/view/upload/delete files!!

gexifrotate is a tool for setting very fast the exif orientation tag on many jpegs. gexifrotate main screen for reading and writing the jpeg-exif tags it uses jpegexiforient which comes with the jpeg tools/libs.
